Project Numina, a Paris-based nonprofit advancing open-source AI for mathematics, announced today that it has awarded a Project Numina Fellowship to Tamás Hausel, Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). The fellowship will support Hausel and his team in developing “Project Sandbox”—a self-contained digital research environment where human mathematicians and AI agents work side by side to develop unexplored areas of mathematics. The fellowship consists of computational support and software access worth 50,000 euros over 12 months.
