Daniel Holmes awarded ÖAW DOC fellowship

6 October 2026

With a project titled “Interactions between Gromov-Witten theory and GKM theory” Daniel received a PhD DOC-fellowship.

The highly competitive DOC Fellowship Programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences offers funding for highly qualified doctoral candidates in all areas of research.

This is the fifth DOC fellowship in the Hausel group in the last five years. It follows Shon Ngo’s successful 2025 application with title “Big Algebras in Classical Types”, Jakub Löwit’s successful 2024 application with title “Arithmetic, Geometry, Topology and Representation Theory Arising from the Affine Grassmannian”, Kamil Rychlewicz’s successful 2022 application with title “Topology of open smooth varieties with a torus action” and Anna Sisák’s successful 2021 application with title “Branes on hyperkähler manifolds”.

Congrats to Daniel!
